Updated Specific Learning Disability (SLD) guidelines, which have been developed collaboratively with school psychologists within Ingham ISD, will be in place for the fall of 2015. Ingham ISD is committed to facilitate and support implementation of MTSS, and has developed a strategic plan to ensure ongoing assistance for a successful adoption of new SLD eligibility guidelines. This wiki page will be used to help distribute the new Ingham Intermediate School District SLD Guidelines, as well as other documents and materials that will be made available to districts to aide in the implementation of these guidelines.

An Ingham Intermediate School District SLD quick guide document was created as a companion of the SLD Guidelines document. This quick guide is not intended to replace the full Ingham ISD SLD Guidelines, rather the following pages include a brief set of guiding questions that may be used as a reference.



The Ingham Intermediate School District SLD guidelines were presented to school psychologists, special education directors, special education teachers, principals, MTSS coaches, and other interested professionals at a session on September 14, 2015. The session and content were planned to begin at 8am and end at 3pm, which included a 45 minute lunch. The PowerPoint provided below represents content that was presented during 3 hours and 45 minutes of that session.

The Ingham ISD SLD eligibility guidelines provides appendixes with protocols for making SLD eligibility decisions for initial evaluations and re-evaluations. The Initial SLD Eligibility Recommendation Protocol is meant to be used for initial evaluations for SLD eligibility when using the Ingham Intermediate School District document Specific Learning Disabilities Guidelines: A Technical Guide for Determining the Eligibility of Students with Specific Learning Disabilities. Evaluators and school professionals should only use this form after an extensive review of this guideline document.



The Re-evaluation SLD Eligibility Recommendation Protocol is meant to be used for re-evaluations for SLD eligibility when using the Ingham Intermediate School District document Specific Learning Disabilities Guidelines: A Technical Guide for Determining the Eligibility of Students with Specific Learning Disabilities. Evaluators and school professionals should only use this form after an extensive review of this guideline document.
